The short version
- You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your name, email or other personal details to use the ruler.
- Your calibration and settings are stored only in your own browser.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads. These services use cookies.
Information stored on your device
To remember your calibration, preferred unit, ruler edges, grid setting and light or dark theme, the site saves a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Measurements you take with the ruler are not recorded or sent anywhere.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, and the approximate region a visit comes from. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information. We use it in aggregate to improve the site and do not use it to identify you.

Advertising
The site shows ads provided by Google AdSense, which helps keep the ruler free.

Fonts and hosting
The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with them. Like most websites, our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to or limit how it is used.
